New NDIS Pricing Updates: What They Mean for Participants

The National Disability Insurance Agency has released its Annual Pricing Review and pricing schedule for 2026–27, effective from 1 July 2026. For participants accessing NDIS support services in Australia, these updates may affect how much providers can charge for certain supports.

What’s Changing

The new pricing schedule sets updated guidance on appropriate prices across a range of supports. Importantly, any planned changes to an existing service agreement must be discussed with participants first, and providers need their agreement before new prices apply.

A Bill introduced to Parliament in May 2026 could also give the NDIS Minister power to set future pricing directly—a shift from how prices have traditionally been published.

What Participants Can Do

  • Ask your provider whether the new pricing schedule affects your service agreement
  • Confirm any price change in writing before it takes effect
  • Talk to your plan manager or support coordinatorif you’re unsure how the update affects your budget

Pricing changes do not automatically mean every participant will pay more. The amount charged can depend on the support, provider, service agreement and applicable NDIS pricing rules. Reviewing your agreement and asking your provider for written details can help you understand whether a change affects your individual budget.
