Our team can provide the assistance you need with activities of daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, and transportation.

Whether you’re looking for emergency respite care, a short-term solution, or a more permanent arrangement in Melbourne, our disability respite services can help you find the right fit for your loved one.

What is Respite Care?

Respite care is short-term care provided by someone other than the primary caregiver. This type of care can be provided in the home or specialized facility. It can be planned ahead of time or used in an emergency situation

Respite care can provide much-needed relief for caregivers who are facing an overload of responsibilities. It can also give caregivers a chance to rest, recharge, and care for their health and well-being. When used in emergencies, respite care can provide crucial support during a time of crisis.

What is Supported Independent Living (SIL)?

In addition to respite care, we also offer SIL (Supportive Independent Living) accommodations. SIL residences are homes designed for people with disabilities who need some assistance to live independently. These homes typically have two to four bedrooms and are located in regular residential neighborhoods. Residents of SIL residences have their own private bedrooms and share common areas such as the kitchen, living room, and bathroom with the other residents.

SIL accommodations can provide a higher level of independence for people with disabilities who do not need constant supervision or care. These accommodations can also provide much-needed respite for caregivers who are facing an overload of responsibilities.

How To Access Respite Care & SIL?

You can use the core budget in your NDIS plan to access respite care and SIL accommodations. This budget can be used to cover the costs of respite care, SIL accommodations, and support services. You should consider contacting your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or Support Coordinator to help you access these services. You can also contact us directly to discuss your needs and how we can help.

Our Featured Services

Our services are designed to give you a break from caregiving while ensuring that your loved one is well taken care of.

In-House Respite Care

We can provide in-home respite care for your loved one while you take some time for yourself. Our caregivers are experienced and specially trained to work with people with developmental disabilities.

They can provide whatever level of care your loved one needs, from help with activities of daily living to full-time support. And because they come to your home, your loved one can stay in familiar surroundings and maintain their usual routine.

In-home respite care is a great solution if you only need occasional breaks or if you’re not ready to place your loved one in a facility. It’s also a good option if your loved one has complex medical needs that require constant supervision.

Specialized Facility-Based Respite Care

We also offer respite care in our specialized facilities. This type of care is ideal if you need a more extended break or if your loved one needs around-the-clock supervision. Our staff is specially trained to work with people with developmental disabilities, and we have the resources to meet even the most complex medical needs. Our facility-based respite care program includes the following:

  • A safe and comfortable place to stay
  • 24/7 access to nursing care and support
  • Activities and outings designed for people with developmental disabilities

Overnight Respite Care

We offer overnight respite care in both our homes and our specialized facilities. This type of care is ideal if you need a full night’s sleep or if your loved one needs around-the-clock supervision.

Our caretakers can provide whatever level of care your loved one needs, from help with activities of daily living to full-time support. And because they’re staying overnight, they can respond quickly to any changes in your loved one’s condition. Whether you need occasional overnight respite care or more regular assistance, we can tailor a program to meet your needs.
